School Environmental Activities


Our sessions focus on re-use, how recycling saves energy and what happens to the waste we recycle. We teach the children how they can make crowns, pictures and robots. We also have a fun session on why it's so important not to litter!

Recycling Champions (Key Stage 1 and 2)


1 hour(Year 1 – Year 3)

Test your recycling knowledge with the recycling beanbag game and fun recycling quiz.

Recycling Robots (Key Stage 2)


1.5 hours  (Year 3 – Year 6)

Find out how different materials are recycled and then work in teams to create a recycling robot to crush, shred, melt or squash your recycling into something useful!

Kings and Queens of Recycling (Key Stage 1)

1 hour  (Reception – Year 2)

Learn all about rubbish and recycling and make yourself a recycled crown!

Sock Monsters (Key Stage 1)


1 hour  (Year 1 – Year 2)

Design and make a sock monster to help you recycle your rubbish.  (Children will need to bring their own thick, adult sock)

T-Shirt Transformers (Key Stage 2)


1.5 hours (Year 3 – Year 6)

Find out what happens to your old clothes when you recycle them.  Then design and make your own recycled T-shirt, using recycled materials.  (Children need to bring a plain, old T-shirt to use)

Recycled Moving Pictures (Key Stage 2)

>1.5 hours  (Year 3 – Year 6)

Learn how recycling saves energy; create and decorate your own moving picture using facts about recycling.

Litter Bugs (Key Stage 1 and 2)

1-1.5 hours (Year 2—Year 6)

Take part in fun litter activities and learn why dropping litter is such a problem and why rats and germs love it!
